Court Denies Massa’s Request For Temporary Restraining Order And Removal Of Articles

On February 26, 2020, a request for a temporary restraining order (TRO) and proposed order to show cause was filed by Massa Construction, Inc. (“Massa”) in Case No. 126837-2020. The motion asked for a permanent take down of a number of “articles on the Geneva Believer website concerning Massa Construction, Inc.”

The TRO request was in addition to the original complaint filed against Geneva Believer for defamation and libel.

On June 11, 2020, the Court determined that “a temporary restraining order is unwarranted” and that the application was “denied.”

The judge also stated that “granting Plaintiff the requested relief would violate the First Amendment.”
